We started 2008 with a new dedicated storage area in the Disciples Den. Racks and special stowage aids were procured. The “Information Station” banner for the fellowship hall was created and installed in February along with an updated Baptismal Banner (17 additions from 2007-2008). Approximately 17 prayer shawls have been distributed this year (5 were mailed). Our inventory is down to a quantity of 9 from a high of 32 as of May 2007. Good Sam Prayer Shawl cards were printed to accompany the shawls because we received a comment that one was received but didn't know what it was about. There have been various knit-crochet nights held January through March and then they were resumed in late September. We are trying to get this on a regular bi-weekly schedule. The Stitching Sisters have lost a few members this year but we are moving forward. I am looking at teaming up with the Church of the Ascension for a 'mutual prayer shawl ministry'. Our craftsmanship on the shawls has greatly improved this year. A planning meeting was held on October 1st. We decided to create a new banner on November 22nd at the church. The Mission banner project will resume in January. Also we are planning to assemble baby quilts in February 2009 as we always need these! We are also planning for a first-ever "Confirmation Banner".
